Klein Geluk Nieu Bethesda is a private, peaceful space for the discerning traveller. This original Karoo Cottage was built pre-1877 in the ‘Brakdak’ tradition of the Karoo with whitewashed clay walls.

This luxury cottage is set in a large garden and can accommodate 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom that is shared with the second bedroom. A long bath allows soaking (no shower) and a fireplace in the lounge heats the home in winter, with a swim dam and outside shower for summer heat. The kitchen is fully equipped and a stoep and braai area are ideal for outdoor dining. A haven for travellers that seek stillness and purpose.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and washing machine. Wall-heating panels provide heat in winter and the lounge has a combustion fireplace which invites guests to curl up on the sofa with a good book or simply relax.
Outside the cottage is a seating area with a boma braai. Guests can cool down in the lovely farm dam, enjoy a refreshing cold, outdoor shower, enjoy a braai and unwind in the crescent-shaped alcove where guests can soak up the sun. Guests are also welcome to pick roses and or harvest vegetables and fruit on the property.

The total property and facilities are for guests’ exclusive use. Wi-Fi is available and parking is on the premises, as well as an alarm system.

The owner is the late Niël Stemmet, author of three heritage cookbooks. He was in the hospitality industry since 1985 and has won many awards for his properties.
