BED & BREAKFAST
Bethesda Tower Accommodation
Unusual quirky accommodation in the form of a fairytale tower (sleeps 4 guests) and charming priory (sleeps 6 guests), plus a self-catering heritage house that sleeps 6 guests.
The Tower is ideal for a couple wanting a romantic night, or an adventurous family wanting a completely unique experience. There are wonderful views of the surrounding hills from the Tower balcony, and at night you can sit and sip your wine under the stars in the round stone courtyard, in privacy and complete safety.
The Priory is named after the Priory in England where its stunning 1820 stained glass windows came from. It sleeps a maximum of seven people. The walls are covered with art-work made at the Centre. A beautiful stone courtyard with its own Braai offers privacy and charm in an outdoor setting. Here you can gaze at the famous Bethesda night sky while you sip your wine in safety and privacy. Nights spent in the Centre’s friendly, quirky accommodation, will not only give you the chance to meet the local coloured artists, but to know that you are supporting a worthwhile project that is changing people’s lives.
This all are part of a Community Project, Bethesda Arts Centre, supported and run by Local indigenous Artists from the Community of Nieu Bethesda. This quirky Centre, with its medieval tower, gothic doors, round river-stone courtyard, and large modern galleries full of stunning artwork is an astonishing find in the dusty off-beat dorp in the depths of the Karoo. The Project is heavily dependent on the income we are able to generate to fund our charitable work through running tourist accommodation and a tourist restaurant, and through entrance fees to the museum.
