Doornberg Guest Farm

Doornberg Guest Farm lies nestled in the heart of the Sneeuberg mountains, just 9 km outside Nieu-Bethesda.

Relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Karoo. Go birdwatching or hiking or just curl up in front of a log fire on a cold winter evening. Doornberg is a working sheep and cattle farm with many fields irrigated by mountain springs, and Peet van Heerden is the sixth-generation owner of this magnificent family farm. The farmhouse is hidden among 200-year-old oak trees and is the ideal accommodation for travellers or families alike.

The Guesthouse can sleep up to nine people. At the back of The Guesthouse, The Rondavel can accommodate three guests. The facilities are all self-catering.

The Flat is a converted stable and can sleep up to four people in an open plan arrangement.

Please note: due to its nature as a working farm, there are many small farm animals as well as the owner’s friendly dogs that roam freely in the yard. As a result the farm cannot accommodate visiting pets.

Facilities

The Guesthouse:

This unit accommodates up to nine guests and features four bedrooms. The first and second bedrooms each have a double bed and a single bed, the third bedroom has two single beds, and the fourth bedroom has one single bed. There are three bathrooms, each with a bath and shower. The Guesthouse also has a fireplace, Wi-Fi, and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, and oven.

The Rondavel behind the Guesthouse can accommodate three people (Double and single bed) in an open plan.

The Flat:

The Flat is on the main farmyard. It is an old stable that has been converted into a large open-plan apartment. It has a double bed and two single beds. Other in-room facilities include a fireplace, lounge area, and a kitchenette fitted with a fridge, microwave, and stove. There is a private braai area outside and guests will have access to a shared outdoor swimming pool.
